Named for a good boy. Built for good leaves.
Dexter Leaf Co started in a home office, between a growing anthurium collection and the black-and-white pointer who kept watch over it. We grow the plants, breed the hybrids and make the substrate we wished we could buy: honest, US-blended, weighed properly, and sold by someone who actually grows in it.
Substrates for the serious leaf.
Hand-mixed mineral Pon for anthuriums and the quieter aroids — weighed by the gram, sealed fresh, and sent in small batches from one collector’s bench to yours.
Pon is a soil-free, mineral substrate — porous stone instead of bark and peat. In a semi-hydro setup, the plant sits in Pon above a shallow reservoir; the stone wicks water and air up to the roots, so they drink steadily without ever drowning. It’s the method serious aroid and anthurium growers reach for once they’re tired of guessing when to water — and once they’ve lost a prized leaf to root rot.
Be the first to know.
Small batches sell out, and the rare-plant drops will be smaller still. Leave your email and we’ll write when fresh Pon is bagged, and when the first tissue cultures and cuttings are ready to leave the bench. Sign-up coming soon — for now, follow along on Instagram @dexterleafco.
